Local business and you’re not on Google Places? That’s loco!

Stop directory websites from ranking above your business.
It’s not cool.

Have you Googled yourself lately? More importantly your business name or product offering? Bet it really grinds your gears to see sites like the Gold Book or Yellow Pages being listed above your website. I know it grinds mine.

Here’s a fact worth considering: 97 percent of consumers search for local businesses online. Another: 73 percent of all online activity is related to local content, according to data released by Google.

Sure that quote is from Google, but who cares. We all know it’s at least somewhat true. The internet rocks and that’s where your customers are going to figure out the who, what, where, when and why of your business. What do you think they are doing when they can’t find you? Or when they see a list of you competitors neatly listed with contact info, hours and a handy map locator? Do you honestly think they will hop on their bike and head on down to the public library to look you up in a phone book? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Ultimately Google just wants to be liked. It’s trying to do so by displaying content that it thinks best matches a search. Trouble is, it’s hard for Google to display your business if you’re not talking to them. They’ve provided the tools for you and they’ve even made them free of charge. All you have to do is find some time and get started. Right here: https://www.google.com/local/business.

You know you won’t do it so just give us a shout and we will do it for you.
