On April 6th, 2016 Facebook launched “Facebook Live”, giving users the ability to shoot live video from anywhere they travel with their mobile device. Being Facebook’s new baby, it loves anyone who posts live video – funnelling viewers their way. In fact, live video posts see 2.3x more engagement than posts without. What this tells us is live video, if it isn’t already, NEEDS to become an integral cog in your content marketing machine. Of course, for anyone in the adventure travel industry this means endless opportunities of bringing your viewers along with you on your adventures – telling your brand story and ultimately, creating new leads and brand ambassadors.
AlgonquinTwitter and Instagram are no exception to the rule. In fact showing faces on Instagram gets 38% more engagement than not showing faces. People want to connect to one another – plain and simple. Hold onto your hats for this one – Tweets with images get an insane 150% more retweets than those without!
