Project Description
In 1980, seasoned canoeist and famed Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot was paddling his beloved canoe down the South Nahanni River in the North West Territories with a small party of friends. Join Curator Jeremy Ward to hear how this canoe inspired Lightfoot’s song, Canary Yellow Canoe. The Stories They Hold explores the rich stories held with The Canadian Canoe Museum’s world-class collection of more than 600 canoes, kayaks and paddled watercraft.
