Case study · Destination storytelling

Telling a destination’s story to the world’s adventure travel industry.

Since 2012 we’ve produced films for the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA). Each film turns a summit or a trip into a story that sells the host destination long after delegates fly home.

The need

A host destination gets one week to make its case.

Every year the ATTA brings adventure tour operators, buyers and media to a host destination for the Adventure Travel World Summit, along with smaller events like AdventureWEEK and AdventureELEVATE. The host invests heavily to be there.

They need more than a highlight reel. They need stories that show what makes the place different, that delegates want to share, and that the destination can keep using in its own marketing.

What we do

We travel with the event and tell the destination’s story.

We join the pre-summit adventures, the trips and the summit itself, filming the guides, communities and landscapes that make each place feel like nowhere else.

We edit fast, so recaps land while the energy is still high, and we build longer destination films that hold up for years. Some trips get the 360° treatment, like the Aphrodite Trail in Cyprus.

The result is a growing library of destination stories across five continents, used by the ATTA, its members and the host destinations themselves.

Beyond the films

Putting the story in front of travellers.

Through the ATTA we’ve also run paid campaigns for Hokkaido (Japan), Peru and Hurtigruten, taking destination stories to the travellers most likely to book.

It’s the same approach we bring to every destination retainer: tell the story well, then make sure the right people see it.
